Researchers of Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics and Development), the Lucca Prefecture authority and the Co&S Consortium offer a training course on immigration and asylum law on November 19-23, 2019. Under the framework of the “Lumit”project, this five-day training program will cover key topics such as international protection, access to protection, social protection system, asylum regulation, and residence permit policy instruments under the European and National Law. The application deadline is Thursday, 14 November 2019.

The “Lumit”project is funded by the Fondo Asilo, Migrazione e Integrazione 2014-2020 program. Researchers from the Sant’Anna School DREAM centre focusing on migration studies and regional policies will offer specific training to professionals, judicial officers, civil servants and administrators in ensuring that they fulfil their constitutional obligations.

“The goal, in the postgraduate program, is to encourage professionals and officials as a positive force in constitutional implementation and as new drivers of the policy process” – said Francesca Biondi Dal Monte, Emanuele Rossi, and Elena Vivaldi, Constitutional Law Faculty and the scientific coordinators of the Lumit project.

“The program will provide participants with the opportunity to study the most up to date legal responses to the migration phenomenon – pointed out Francesca Biondi Dal Monte. We view the rights implementation as a core constitutional function. We think judicial officers, civil servants and administrators should be encouraged to make policy ensuring access to protection for people seeking asylum”.
